Swans suffer 11th hour collapse move for duo. With Manchester City midfielder Jacob Wright and Red Bull Salzburg’s Bobby Clark both not falling through.

Wright appeared close to joining Swansea on a loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. He was at Fairwood on Sunday night for further discussions with the club. However, despite earlier optimism, it seems the 19-year-old has decided not to move to South Wales. Sportschronicles suggest he may now be on the verge of a transfer to Championship rivals Norwich City.

This setback is particularly disheartening for the Swans, who had targeted Wright to help fill the gap left by captain Matt Grimes, who recently transferred to Coventry City.

With little time remaining before the 11 pm deadline transfer market, it’s uncertain where the club will look for alternatives. Additionally, their efforts to secure Bobby Clark, a former Liverpool player, have also stalled. Although his current club, Red Bull Salzburg, had initially agreed to send Clark on loan for the remainder of the season, it now appears that a transfer is unlikely to be finalized.

On a more positive note, Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien has successfully joined Swansea on a loan earlier in the day. As it stands, he is likely to be Swansea’s only signing on what is proving to be a challenging deadline day. The club is reportedly still exploring other potential options.

Swansea also made a £750,000 bid for Leyton Orient midfielder Ethan Galbraith, which was unsuccessful. It seems unlikely that another offer will be made at this stage.
